JO CORA
Role at Liberation Street - Co-founder, creative writer, researcher
Jo Cora is a published short story writer living in Warrington, Cheshire. She has a background in psychology and draws from her experiences throughout her work. Jo is working on her first book, a short story collection and audio book called Wild Love: Stories of Connection. Also currently completing Maya-I, a sci-fi and mythology narrative for video production.
What excites me about this project:
Women often feel invisible at times. It could be that they feel overlooked in work, unseen in their relationship, maybe a little lost, and I wanted to explore that. As a writer of short stories I am excited to collaborate on this art collection with Jai because I love the integration between beautiful art and thought provoking words.
As a writer I’m really excited to contribute to the Liberation Street art collection by creating our fictional characters and writing a short story for each one, in her words, to complement the beautiful art created by Jai Sol.
A flower that symbolises me
The snowdrop. I’m an optimistic person and I love those little delicate bundles of green foliage and pretty white bells which appear just at that point in winter where we are all tired of being cold and looking for a symbol of hope that new beginnings are on their way.
KAREN SADLER
Role at Liberation Street - SME / specialist advisor.
In the 1990s, I spent four years living and working in the U.A.E. As a young, single, western woman living in a very different culture, it was a defining period in my life and sparked my interest and passion in equality, diversity & inclusion - in particular gender diversity.
For the last 20+ years I've worked as a consultant and coach, working with many large organisations and their senior leaders, helping them to deliver great results by valuing and motivating their people. I'm passionate about developing and enabling people to be the best versions of themselves and fulfil their aspirations and potential.
What excites me about this project:
With my background in and passion for the role of women in business and wider society, this amazing project ticks all of my boxes, and I was thrilled when Jai Solinvited me to share some of my experiences and insights. I've spent much of my career supporting and coaching incredibly talented women to be visible role models who have a positive impact and can change the culture in their areas of expertise and influence. Changing the way in which women are seen and perceived is vital to creating a more equitable society and greater understanding of how we all experience the world differently. Bringing to life those individual stories through the power of beautiful art will provide an accessible platform and will create a truly inspiring experience for everyone involved.
A flower that symbolises me
Probably a sunflower. They symbolise loyalty, which is a core value of mine, and also, like me, they follow the sun!
JULIE HARRIS
Role at Liberation Street - Photographer
I’m Jules, a true creative with a butterfly mind.
With a background in graphics & counselling, and 14 years of photographing people in my Sale, Studio.
I now specialise in Personal Branding imagery. Designed to help entrepreneurs to ‘step out of the shadows’ and enable their businesses to grow beyond their limiting beliefs.
What excites me about this project:
The complete uniqueness of the approach and the delightful and incredible creative results which Jai has managed to create. I love anything which helps to lift women, and showcase them. It perfectly resonates with my brand ethos of helping women to 'step out of the shadows'
A flower that symbolises me
My flower would have to be a Allium, it is what my logo is based on, and I love them because, to me, they are so unique. A complete globe of a flower. Nothing like anything else in the flower world. They also 'own' the purple vibes of my brand. Which I love.
They have so many beautiful, mini flowers which make up the whole. It kind of represents that we are all made of tiny components, and when put together correctly, create something unique.
KATIE MASON
Role at Liberation Street - Financial Advisor
Katie has a 30-year career in accounting, finance, and business, including over 15 years in the advertising and marketing industry, specialising in supporting health agencies working with big pharma. She has also supported large service organisations in regulatory accounting and client commercial arrangements, with additional experience in the charity and public sectors, where she held Finance Director and Chief Operating roles.
My role at Liberation Street
I want to especially bring my commercial planning and budgeting experience to Liberation Street, helping the team understand their roles in making the project financially viable and successful.
What excites me about Liberation Street
As soon as I saw the first beautiful images I knew it was something that I needed to be part of. The story telling alongside the images are both powerful and compelling, truly representing women’s visibility and resonating with me. I’m sure others will feel the same.
A flower that symbolises me
I would have to say tulip. I adore the elegance of tulips and how they always still seem to grow even when cut and put in a vase!
SARAH CAMAL
Role at Liberation Street - Project Coordinator
What excites me about this project:
I love the way liberation street embraces modern technology and storytelling to reflect on experiences of women through the century. Its relatability creates the perfect environment for encouraging discussion and for women to express and share their own stories.
A flower that symbolises me
The flower that symbolises me is a Sunflower, it represents resilience in challenging times and it’s a symbol of joy and positivity.
JAI SOL

For over 15 years, Jai Sol, has exhibited his work both locally in Manchester and globally, with shows in renowned venues, including his studios and galleries in Manchester and Soho, London. What excites me about this project:
If my artwork can help people understand some of the challenges women face on a daily basis that encourages me to delve deeper into the subject matter to curate art that can promote discussion and perspectives.
